Privacy policy

Applies to RideHC for iPhone, version 1.0. Last updated 25 October 2026.

The short version

RideHC keeps everything on your phone. It has no account, no server and no analytics. The app contains no network code at all: nothing you record leaves the phone unless you export or share a file yourself.

What the app stores, and where

All of it is stored in the app's own storage on your iPhone, protected by the device's encryption and your passcode. The app does not use HealthKit and does not read or write Apple Health.

Heart rate and other health-related data

Heart rate, body temperature and muscle oxygen are health-related measurements. RideHC records them only to show them to you during the ride and to write them into your ride files. They are never sent anywhere by the app, never used for advertising, and never shared with anyone unless you share a file.

Bluetooth

RideHC asks for Bluetooth so it can read your sensors and set the resistance on a smart trainer. It keeps Bluetooth running in the background so a ride keeps recording with the screen off. It does not use Bluetooth for anything else.

Files you export or share

You can export a ride as a FIT file, a CSV file and a JSON archive, and share them with the system share sheet, AirDrop or Files. Those files contain the ride's data and the profile values the ride used, such as your name, FTP and weight. Once a file has left the phone it is governed by whatever service you sent it to, not by RideHC.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app from your iPhone deletes everything it stored. Exported files you have saved elsewhere are not affected.

Children

RideHC is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If a future version changes what the app does with your data — for example, an optional link to a coaching platform — this page will say so before that version is released, with the date of the change.
